TAMPA, FL – May 19, 2011 – Impulse Point, provider of the industry’s most scalable and easiest to deploy and maintain Network Access Control (NAC) solution announced the appointment of Tim Evans as vice president of sales. After one of the best years in its history, Impulse Point further positions itself for continued growth with this appointment. In 2010, Impulse Point experienced significant year-to-year revenue growth of 95% and accomplished its fourth straight year of maintaining cash-flow positive status.
Impulse Point attributed its rapid growth to continued acceptance within larger higher education Institutions and accelerated displacements of alternative NAC providers. Colleges and universities are replacing their existing NAC solutions for enhanced end-user experience, reduced help desk support calls, increased reliability and availability, the ability to scale enterprise-wide, managed support services, and a lower total cost of ownership. Impulse Point is also benefiting from the experience gained in securing personally-owned student devices within higher education to address the current surge in “Bring Your Own Device” (aka BYOD) initiatives within the K12 Education industry sector.
“Tim Evans is a welcome addition to our management team”, said Dennis Muley, president, Impulse Point. “His network security industry knowledge, commitment to the customer, and proven ability to build and manage high-performance, scalable sales teams will further accelerate our business plan objectives.”
With more than 25 years of global sales and business development experience, Evans will be responsible for achieving key company revenue and customer acquisition goals, reseller partnership development, and fostering field level relationships with existing technology partners, such as Dell, Aruba and Brocade. “I’m honored to join Impulse Point and lead its sales organization,” said Evans. “Impulse Point delivers a unique and simplified approach that addresses the key inhibitors to NAC adoption in the marketplace. I’m excited to be part of such an innovative, high-grow potential organization.”
Evans has extensive experience in the NAC technology space and prior to joining Impulse Point he served as both an independent consultant and a vice president of sales in the NAC industry. Under his leadership, Tim’s team was able to double its customer base and achieved consistent quarter-over-quarter sales growth. Evans also brings strong experience developing sales strategy, product positioning and partnerships, and will help to recruit, hire and manage the sales teams.
Evans has also held key sales and executive positions at Visual Networks, Openwave, Hasbro Interactive, NCT Group, Proteon, American Power Conversion and Merisel. Evans holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Cum Laude from Boston College and is currently pursuing a Masters in Management from Harvard University Extension School in Cambridge, MA.
